Anne is a 4th-generation (which makes Carey-Anne 5th generation and her 2 children 6th generation!) Queenstowner and has roots that go deep into the region. Hospitality is in her blood. Her mum, who still lives in town (and still offers advice!), helped prepare a meal for Queen Elizabeth I. Her uncle, Sam Summers, was a locally-famous prospector whose old miner’s shack is now a popular day-walk destination. And her daughter, Carey-Anne, carries on the family tradition and has been managing local hotels since the tender age of 16.
